Weekly Trade Review Template
A structured weekly review template that covers performance, psychology, rule adherence, and improvement goals.
Section 1 — Numbers (5 minutes): Total P&L, win rate, profit factor, number of trades, biggest winner, biggest loser, max drawdown this week. Compare each to your 4-week rolling average. Are you improving, declining, or flat?
Section 2 — Psychology (10 minutes): What emotion did you tag most frequently? Did your calm trades outperform your anxious trades? How many trades were impulse vs planned? Did you hit your daily loss limit on any day? Score your overall discipline 1-10.
Section 3 — Patterns (10 minutes): Which setups were profitable? Which lost money? What time of day were you sharpest? Did any specific rules prevent a bad trade or fail to prevent one? What was your best trade and why? What was your worst trade and why?
Section 4 — Action Items (5 minutes): Write ONE specific improvement goal for next week. Not "trade better" — something measurable: "Only take breakout entries after a 3-bar consolidation" or "Max 5 trades per day" or "Stop trading after 2 consecutive losses." Track compliance on this one goal all week.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a trading journal help?
A journal reveals patterns in your trading that are invisible without data: which setups work, how emotions affect your P&L, and whether your discipline is improving over time.
Is there a free trial?
TradeRipper offers 7 days of full access, no credit card required. But you can also start with a free spreadsheet — the tool matters less than the habit.
