Order Flow Trading Journal

Order Flow traders need a journal that captures both strategy execution and psychology. Here's what to track, what to look for, and how to turn your order flow data into a genuine trading edge.

Order flow analysis reads the tape — bid/ask imbalances, aggressive buyers/sellers, and absorption. It shows what's happening NOW, not what happened (like indicators). Journaling order flow observations builds pattern recognition over months.

Tag each trade with what you saw on the tape: aggressive buyers, delta divergence, stacked bids, absorption, etc. After 200 trades, you'll know which order flow signals reliably predict direction in your market.

Order flow is highly instrument-specific. What works on ES doesn't work on NQ or CL. Your journal should be filtered by instrument to find instrument-specific order flow patterns.

Key metric: win rate by order flow signal type. The signals with 60%+ accuracy over a large sample are your tradeable signals. The rest are noise.
